After posting Kollu drink for weight loss I had requests for weight loss drinks from readers. So wanted to share a simple Moor or buttermilk with vegetable (Poosanikai/ white pumpkin) that Amma makes for me whenever I come to see her. This is a great vegetable that helps you to lose weight and remove excess water retention in the body. There is no specification that you need to have it in empty stomach but its best to have this during hot summers as this drink is a natural coolant for the body during hot days. If you are prone to cold please avoid this drink. White pumpkins are very low in calorie, filled with Vitamin A, B complex. They have anti inflammatory properties and best for people suffering joint pains. Pumpkins are also best for skin and hair health.

VELLAI POOSANIKAI JUICE FOR WEIGHT LOSS RECIPE

Recipe - Amma
Prep time - 5 mins
Serves - 2 tall glasses
Serving suggestion - as a drink during snack or break time.

Ingredients

Poosanikai / White Pumpkin - 2 -3 meidum pieces
Ginger - 1/4 " piece
Green chilli - 1/2 
Jeera / cumin - 1 pinch
Curry leaves - 3-4 nos
Corriander - 1 tbsp chopped
Curd/ Yoghurt - 1/2 cup (low fat, preferably homemade)
Salt - to taste

Method

In a mixer grind together all the ingredients and add salt. Mix well check for taste and serve immediately.

TIP 1

1. This drink has to be taken daily it helps to take away the water retention and also if a natural coolant to the body.

TIP 2

2. If you are someone who catches cold easily or when you have curd its best to avoid. As poosinikai or white pumpkin and curd are coolants.

TIP 3

3. I personally have this drink during hot summers when the body needs coolant drinks for hydration.

TIP 4

4. You can mix and match ingredients or add chaat masala for a spiced version.

  11. Very good drink to have it in hot summer days. Thanks for receipe..I have added butter milk, salt, quarter bit of green chilly and also a small bit of ginger for 100ml juice.Tastes heavenly.
