Baked Apple Chips | Easy Oven Baked Apple Chips

Its early Autumn and I already find fall leafs being carried away by the wind. Seasons change  and so does my mood for food. So thinking of this the thought of these Apple Chips simply cropped in my mind. I am sure there are equal number of people who have tried baking these apple chips and the other who have never heard of these. Well this is a pure joy to share this irresistible baked chips that are purely healthy and a great snack for the busy tv time.

Let me tell you my story at first I was too skeptical as to how they would taste, although a google search gives you a couple hundred photos of the apple chips, I just rushed my way to bake some. Well so many say use granny smith, red apples and this and that. I'd say just try your hand with whatever apples you have at home and then take the big step to do variations.

If you are someone who never goes for baked chips, sorry try these~ it might stop your cravings for deep fried chips, trust me, they are so good.

I simply topped the apple slices with a drizzle of brown sugar and no spices whatsoever and it tasted so yum. They were soft when taken out of the oven but hardened their way as it cooled. But remember to store them in an airtight container. I simply could not stop with one and all the more kept admiring them as I ate. Try it and you will keep making more and more. Oh you know "an apple a day keeps the doctor away", so lets go apples :D

Ingredients

Whole Apples (firm)

A slicer or mandoline
Brown sugar (optional)

Method

Line a baking tin with baking sheet, set aside. Clean and wipe the apples, slice them horizontally using a slicer / mandoline. Line the slices side by side and drizzle the brown sugar on top, making sure to discard the seeds.

Bake for 45 mins at 200 C. Take the baking tin out of the oven and let it cool down completely.

Now enjoy your healthy and baked apple chips

Cooks Wisdom

- You can top the apples with cinnamon, nutmeg, cumin or even salt/pepper whatever you fancy

- Make sure you don't slice them too thick as you need a crisp chips remember.
