Spiced Buttermilk / Masala Mor & a useful health tip

How many of you face indigestion problem? I am a victim of this ever since I moved base to UK. Like most people I started to fetch flavored yogurts but little did I know that what I thought would help me would actually cause greater harm to my body.

Research say that a fructose (ingredient in most juices, yogurts and  sweeteners) can actually cause obesity or even cancer  Read here to get more info. So make it a point to first read the ingredient list of any packed products that you buy and never give such stuff to kids. A famous fitness expert Jillian Michael of 'The Biggest Loser' says that its best to avoid packed food stuffs which list ingredients that you do not know. Simply means that its preservatives and are no good for our health.

Its well said that "Prevention is better that cure". So my solution to indigestion problem is making a lovely spiced buttermilk at home. This masala buttermilk soothes stomach upset, cools your body temperature and also aids digestion. Ditch the medicines and the packed stuffs, make it at home yourself.

Makes ~ 2 glasses
Prep time ~ 3 mins

Ingredients
Natural Yogurt/ curd - 1 cup (i used low fat)
Water - 1/2 cup
Salt - as per taste (optional)
Ground ginger - 1/2 tsp (you can even use fresh)
Corriander powder - a generous pinch
Curry leaves - 3-4
Fenugreek seeds/ venthayam - 1/4 tsp
Jeera - 3-4 whole

Method
In a mixie jar/ blender add all the ingredients except water for 1 minute and later add the water and give it a good whisk. Drain the buttermilk with a strainer to a serving glass

Serve cold topped with some curry leaves

Tips
- you could also add green chili but discarding the seeds
