This time around as always we have not yet decided what to do on Feb 14, being married in the same month it makes things very special for us. So we kind of club things together to celebrate, although gifts are never clubbed :D. So hoping to unwrap the surprises I wish to celebrate the month on a sweet note. Cheers to all the love struck or not struck folks... To kick-start this month I am sharing with you one of my favorite and all time dessert Fruit Custard. Look out for more sweet valentine surprises this month ;-)
Ingredients
Big bowl of chopped fruits - 1 (I used melon, apple, orange, grapes, which ever is seasonal)
Custard powder - 3 tbsp (I used bird's)
Sugar - 2 tsp
Milk - 2 cups (I used fat free)
Method
- In a sauce pan add 1.5 cup of milk and bring to a boil, in the meantime with the remaining 1/2 cup milk dissolve the custard powder without any lumps
- add the sugar to the boiling milk, reduce the heat to medium to low and slowly add the custard mix
- keep mixing using a wire whisk and keep stirring till it thickens about few secs and switch off the stove. Let it cool down to room temperature
- pour into the cut fruits and chill for an hour or more
Serve chilled or with a dollop of ice cream
Cooks Wisdom
- Make sure you dissolve the custard powder well in milk else it will result in lumpy custard
- You can add you favorite seasonal fruits
- Adjust sugar based of sweet tooth
delicious custard..
