This is a simple and easy dip/spread done with ripe avocados. It can be paired with sandwiches, tortillas, roti or some crisps. I have made an Indian twist with the usual Guacamole recipe.
Serves ~ 2, makes 6 sandwiches
Prep time ~ 5 mins
Ingredients
Ripe Avocado - 1 large / 2 small
Green chilli - 2, deseeded & slit
Rock salt (as per taste)
Mint leaves - 8-10, washed
Onion - 1 medium, chopped
Juice of 1 lemon
Method
Cut the avocado horizontally (length wise), twist it and remove the seed, scoop the pulp with a spoon, transfer it to a bowl and mash it well with a folk/ hand-held masher. Add the rock salt and lemon juice and mix well. In a blender/ mixie/ food processor blend in all the ingredients except Avocado. Grind it to a course paste and mix this to the avocado.
Enjoy as a dip/ spread
Tips
- Use ripe avocados, check to see by pressing them within your palms, if they are squishy then they are ripe
- If you want to skip the mint you can do so, still they would taste good
