Birthday for Husband ? Stuck for Ideas ??? 5 simple Ideas to help you plan His gift right

Well this is a new section to my blog, on Special Occasions and I hope it is of help to you.
I know most of us have a tough time gifting our husband, like most wives I also face the stress on finding a perfect gift… To tell you the truth I actually plan for my husbands’ birthday months ahead. It’s just been 3 birthdays that we have spent together and still I get stuck for ideas.

I am no expert at this, just that I have had success in some attempts and hence thought of sharing them here. I know I have few interesting faces starring at the computer screen and few not so good looking faces grinning at why on earth will I do a post on this but I just felt like it… As simple as that.

5 simple Ideas to help you plan His gift right

1. Watch Out on what His interests are -

Now this is a crazy thing you need to do throughout the year, while your shopping, talking, watching tv, driving – your man will give you hints on something he likes doing/ wants and has been waiting to do it but like most important things he forgets it altogether, which is good for us wifes :D (grinning). So remember those forgotten things and plan his gift/ surprise. It could even be a membership to the gym, that’s a good healthy gift ladies, may be that’s a way to get your man working-out.

2. Romantic interests –

Of course we all have a Romantic side to us, which gets unleashed and freed when we get married and fall in love with our other half (not the better half, come on we are equally good). So there would be some fancy romantic ideas which you would have shared as a couple, may be a candle light dinner by the sea. Or a day stay at a good beach resort or may be a night drive to the beach. I know you must be saying but I have kids what do I do? Ok may be leave them under someone’s care or after they sleep plan for a romantic meal at home. Just think and think there are so many options, it’s just that you need to spend time to brew over your memory.

3. Simple & thoughtful things –

Write and this will stay forever, I still give cards to my husband for the most simple reasons and occasions, he actually files them and reads them when the file happens to meet his eyes. Needless to say that he quotes them when we have those quarrels, but the thing is he remembers them. Get creative and write them yourself, there are quite a few online sites that offer you to personalize cards (with own text). Leave love notes in his lunch box/ desk and in the car, but be careful when you have people around at home. You don’t want to get embarrassed and only put them in places where he would see them.

Its alright if you are not the writing type, you could collect a bunch of memorable pictures make them into a collage and frame it. You can also write few words here and there and give it a personal touch. (*follow some links to personalized card/gift site online & online collage-making sites at the end of this post).

4. Gifting according to age –

As men get older they don’t like to be reminded of their age, who does like it… but this is something that they will enjoy for sure.

This was my first gift idea for my husband for his first birthday that we were together. We were engaged and the following month was his birthday and I wanted to surprise him and was sure of what I wanted to do (I had been having his idea for years and waiting for the right one), ok going to it, I had planned give him gifts as his age, wrapped them each separately and put then in a huge box and further wrapped that and sealed it with a card on top. I had given him the gift box two days ahead of his birthday and gave standing instructions not to open it until the early hrs of his birthday (12 pm past). He was so curious to see whats in the box and the suspense was too much and he had to wait. And finally he opened it and kept unwrapping each gift one by one, I had planned to number the gifts so that he opens it in that particular order.

Or another good way to pull off this idea is to hide the gifts in different places like a treasure chest giving clues to find the other. I am sure this will make him work hard for his gifts :P

5. Bake/ Cook for Him

No other best way to satisfy a man. Haven’t you heard “the best way to reach a man’s heart is through his belly” ? so cook him something different that you have never tried before, this would make him feel special. Nothing can beat a home cooked meal, so tap your creative side and make sure you secretly try the dish before making it on his special day to avoid disappointments. Make sure you use his favorite ingredients cos its his day, let it be something that he loves. And if you still are struggling to think of the perfect dish just remember the different dishes that he often orders in restaurants or if he is a mummy’s boy get his mother’s signature recipe and try it out.

  4. Lovely post & very well explained. Everyone has some wish to gift his/her beloved. But I think, how he wants to celebreate his birthday...it is the most important thing. So, we jointly planned and celebrate with friends accordingly. Because, here in US, we don't have any relative. On the question of gift.......I could not afford costly gift, because I am not a working lady in US. So my gifts are always too humble comparatively others. But I made cake and food according to his choice only.
